The first performances of Back to Methuselah were under- taken by the Theatre Guild of New York, and began on the 27th February 1922 in the Garrick Theatre in that city. The first performances in England began at the Birming- ham Repertory Theatre under the management of Barry Jackson on the 9th October 1923.
